The Halloween Game

Some of my friends and I have been playing an on-going role playing adventure we like to call, “The Halloween Game.”  The premise is that every Halloween, there is a group of people sent into a horrible alternate dimension where they battle monsters for their lives.  No one quite knows how the horror began, but it happens every year, triggered by some kind of eerie black object given to the players by a creepy old man.

After the first few times of gaming, I decided to write down the adventures for posterity.  We have some pretty crazy antics and some pretty scary quests.  Enjoy!

Halloween Game the First  - In which we first venture into the nightmarish world of Halloweentowne.

Halloween Game the Second  - In which we see yet another horrible atrocity of NPC slaughter.

Halloween Game the Third  - In which we learn that flamethrowers are really, really cool.

Halloween Game the Fourth - In which we witness the invention of the sport of 'zombie bowling'.

Halloween Game the Fifth - In which we see that phone books are freaking useful.

Halloween Game the Sixth - In which we take advantage of the lack of materialism among monks.

Halloween Game the Seventh - In which we say, "Art Vandelay".

Halloween Game the Eighth - In which the characters try to make a run for it.

Halloween Game the Ninth - In which the players actively seek Destruction.

Halloween Game the Tenth - In which the characters make a not-quite-so proverbial deal with the devil.

Halloween Game the Eleventh - In which we see the game through the eyes of Monsters.

Halloween Game the Twelfth - In which characters use faith.

Here are some accessories to help you on your way through the realm of nightmare:

Monstrous Compendium - A partial guide to the monsters of Halloweentowne.

Halloweentowne Rules - How to survive a night of doom.
